Common Beginner Mistakes
The five mistakes almost every new AI user makes, and the easy fixes.

Mistake 1: Treating AI like a search engine
Most people type two or three keywords, the way they would into Google: 'trip Ireland.' AI works best with full requests, the way you would talk to a helpful person: 'Plan a relaxed 7-day trip to Ireland in May for two people who prefer not to drive.' The more naturally you talk to it, the better it works.
Mistake 2: Giving up after one bad answer
If the first answer misses the mark, do not start over or give up. Just reply and steer: 'Shorter, please.' 'Make it warmer.' 'That is too complicated; explain it like I am brand new to this.' The conversation is the whole point. The second and third answers are usually much better than the first.
Mistake 3: Leaving out the details that matter
The AI only knows what you tell it. 'Write a birthday message' gets you something generic. 'Write a birthday message for my granddaughter turning 16 who just got her driving permit' gets you something wonderful. Whenever an answer feels bland, the fix is usually one more detail from you.
Mistake 4: Believing everything it says
AI sounds confident even when it is wrong. It can invent book titles, misremember dates, and mangle phone numbers. Enjoy the help, but double-check facts that matter, especially anything about health, money, or the law.
Mistake 5: Thinking you might break it
You cannot break an AI assistant. There is no wrong question, no silly request, and no way to embarrass yourself: it never judges and never gets impatient. The people who get the most out of AI are simply the ones who experiment. Poke at it. Ask it anything. That is what it is for.
